Nancy Bauer, news director at KNSD-TV Channel 39 in San Diego, was hired Monday as executive producer of all newscasts at KNBC Channel 4. She will join the station April 24, reporting to news director Tom Capra. Bauer replaces Nancy Valenta, who left KNBC last year to become news director of a TV station in Miami. A native of Downey, Bauer has been at KNSD since October, 1981, taking over as news director last June.
