Today’s Schedule for L.A. International Film Festival
The American Film Institute Los Angeles International Film Festival opens today for two weeks at the Cineplex Odeon Century Plaza Cinemas. Here is today’s schedule:
‘Morgan’s Cake’
United States, 1988, 90 minutes
10:35 p.m.
Rick Schmidt’s sweet-natured but self-indulgent film takes its title from its almost-18-year-old hero’s wonderment at why we can’t have our cake and eat it too. Morgan Schmidt-Feng’s Morgan is a reflective, likable guy on the brink of adulthood with all its decisions, priorities and responsibilities. Unfortunately, Schmidt’s warm, rueful sensibility is overwhelmed by his penchant for long-winded, tedious digressions.
