Harvard Student Unit Backs Return of ROTC

CAMBRIDGE, Mass — Twenty years after ROTC was pressured to leave the Harvard University campus, the student council has voted to bring it back.
In a 41-24 vote Sunday, the Undergraduate Council asked the university to negotiate with the military to bring back Reserve Officers’ Training Corps programs. In 1969, the university withdrew academic credit for ROTC, an edict that followed a student strike that paralyzed the school.
