The Black Experience in Hollywood
I have been associated with Eddie Murphy during the making of three films. On “Beverly Hills Cop,” he saw probably two or three black people on the crew. Soon, there appeared a healthy handful of black craftspeople on “The Golden Child.” Now, for the currently filming “Harlem Nights,” there is the first racially balanced crew I have witnessed in my nearly 30 years in films.
The credit belongs to Eddie Murphy. He is changing lives.
