Boy Feigns Death, Then Seeks Help After Attack
CREVE COEUR, Mo. — A 9-year-old boy stabbed in the chest in an attack that also injured his mother was able to get away from his assailants by pretending he was dead, and then ran to a neighbor’s home for help, police said.
Kathleen Patterson, 39, and her son, Joseph, were reported in satisfactory condition Sunday at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. The two suffered numerous stab wounds during the attack at their home Friday night, police said.
Two suspects were arrested in the attack, which apparently was the result of a quarrel between the suspects and Kathleen Patterson, police said.
