Woman Found in Field Was Stabbed to Death
An autopsy on the body of a woman found in a field in Pacoima determined that she had been stabbed to death, Los Angeles police said Friday.
The badly decomposed body was found by a security guard walking to work Sunday morning in a field off Osborne Street near the Hansen Dam Recreation Center, Detective Al Ferrand said. An autopsy was completed Thursday, and medical examiners found multiple stab wounds, he said.
There were no suspects, and investigators had been unable to identify the victim. She was described as black, 20 to 35 years old, wearing a black jacket, and a pink and black shirt with matching shorts.
Ferrand said detectives were unable to match her description with reports of missing women. He said investigators suspect that the woman was killed in the field rather than dumped there.
