Man Fatally Stabbed at Fast-Food Outlet
A man believed to be a transient was stabbed to death in Long Beach during an argument with another street person at a fast-food restaurant, police said.
Mark Freeman Hobbs, 28, was attacked Thursday morning outside the Volcano Burgers restaurant at 745 E. Broadway, Lt. Columbus Lowe said. He died less than an hour later at St. Mary Medical Center.
The stabbing occurred after Hobbs and another man argued inside the restaurant, Lowe said. It was not known what the argument was about.
The men went outside, where the argument escalated and the other man stabbed Hobbs in the abdomen.
The assailant, a transient, fled and officers who arrived a short time later found Hobbs crumpled in the street, Lowe said.
