KCET celebrates the Fourth of July with some flag waving of its own this week.
On Monday at 7:30 p.m., Channel 28 serves up “Take Five: Videolog,” a half-hour special hosted by Huell Howser. In one of the show’s five segments, Howser picks up a few tips on the proper way to handle the American Flag from Boy Scout Alfredo Ugalde.
Howser also talks with young accordion players, makes an 8 a.m. visit to Farmers Market, samples the olives of La Mirada and listens to the beat of a Japanese taiko drum group.
“Videolog,” which provides glimpses of the people and places of Southern California, will air under the “Take Five” banner this year. The five-minute programs, whose regular time slot will be Fridays at 7:30 p.m., also can be seen at that time through Friday.
