Is there too much sex on TV, and do viewers notice the sponsors of shows deemed too sexy? Yes, and not all that much, are the respective replies of 1,000 viewers in a poll for Advertising Age magazine. The poll, published this week, found that 65% of of those questioned think there’s too much sexual content in TV shows. The figure rises to 78% for women only. But only 21% of all those polled notice the sponsors of shows they consider offensive. The poll also found that married viewers are more likely to say TV has too much sex, with 69% making that claim, compared to 53% of single, separated or divorced viewers.
