Nicaragua Expels Election Observer

MANAGUA, Nicaragua — The leftist Sandinista government has expelled a U.S. citizen who planned to observe next February’s elections, the Interior Ministry said Friday.
A ministry spokeswoman said Antonio Ybarra was given 48 hours on Wednesday evening to leave the country for violating immigration procedures. She said Ybarra failed to notify immigration authorities of a change of address.
