NATION : Obese Woman Crushes Mate in Tiff

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. —  A man was killed when his overweight wife fell on him during an argument in their home, police said today.

Stanley Walker, 47, was pronounced dead on arrival at Park City Hospital after a squabble with his wife, Vannie, at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, said Detective Scott Gordon.

“This happened during a domestic dispute,” Gordon said. “I don’t know her weight but I know she was big”

Gordon said Vannie Walker told police she and her husband scuffled while he was on the telephone talking long distance to his mother in Miami. “Basically, he started getting loud and she went to subdue him. I’m not sure of the size of him,” Gordon said.

Gordon said the death was under investigation and no charges have been filed.
