Rail Car Still Burning; 800 Remain Evacuated

FREELAND, Mich. — About 800 people will have to stay away from their homes at least until today while a chemical fire in a railroad tanker car burns itself out, a CSX Transportation Inc. spokesman said Thursday. An estimated 3,000 people initially were evacuated from a 15-square-mile area Saturday after 14 cars of a CSX train derailed, officials said.
