Nile Kinnick, 96, father of 1939 Heisman Trophy winner Nile Kinnick Jr., died Thursday at an Omaha hospital of head injuries he suffered in a fall at his home last week.
His son attended the University of Iowa and joined the Navy during World War II. He was killed when the plane he piloted crashed in 1943.
