Batmania has struck the French capital--though “Batman” doesn’t open here until mid-September.
Videos for Prince’s batmusic are screening in bars and on local TV stations.
And the infamous batlogo seems to be plastered everywhere--including on just about every kiosk and bus stop stand.
As for batwear: it’s impossible to walk down any street and not see someone wearing a Batman T-shirt. The look: basic black, with--yes--that darned logo. On the day of the Tour de France bicycle finale (which drew a crowd of half a million), peddlers carrying stacks of T-shirts--authorized and un --were in abundance. When the race concluded, countless Parisians walked away looking, well, batty.
