Dubcek Says Facts of Soviet Invasion Must Be Addressed

WARSAW — Ousted Czech leader Alexander Dubcek has told a Polish newspaper the 1968 Soviet-led invasion of his country must be officially condemned before progress can be made with political reforms.
“It has to be officially admitted that on Aug. 21, 1968, our allies from five socialist countries forcibly made Czechoslovakia change its political course,” Dubcek told the Solidarity daily Gazeta Wyborcza.
