The director of San Jose International Airport announced his resignation one month after he and other top managers were disciplined over the expensive repair of the airport’s shuttle bus fleet. Raul Regalado, 44, was under fire after a city audit said the airport spent too much--nearly $1 million a year--to maintain its fleet of 26 shuttle buses. The director and six other airport managers were disciplined in June as a result of the audit. Regalado, who was hired as airport director in 1980, said the resignation is effective Aug. 11.
