The South Lake Tahoe City Council selected Planning Commissioner Bruce Grego to fill the seat vacated by the resignation of Mayor Terry Trupp after Trupp’s indictment on cocaine and money-laundering charges. Grego, a local attorney, was selected from among 18 candidates who met residency requirements. Trupp, 46, resigned from the council July 11--the day his term as mayor expired and the day after he pleaded innocent.
