Solon Takes Over Lead in Race Across AMerica
Paul Solon of Tiburon, Calif., overtook Mike Secrest of Scottsdale, Ariz., Saturday to regain the lead in the Race Across AMerica. Solon passed Harmony, Ohio, at 6:51 p.m. (PDT) Saturday, 2,245 miles into the race. He held a one-minute lead over Secrest, who had taken the lead from Solon Friday.
Bob Breedlove of Des Moines, Iowa, is in third place, 70 miles behind.
Susan Notorangelo of Harvard, Ill., is the only women left in the race. She is eighth overall, 2,042 miles into the race. Diane Owens of Ft. Worth, Tex., dropped out Saturday.
The race began in Costa Mesa and will end in New York.
