Man Held in Slaying of Wife’s Ex-Husband
A Van Nuys man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of his wife’s ex-husband, police said Saturday.
Raymond Carl Arens, 35, was pronounced dead at Valley Hospital Medical Center after police found him lying in the hallway of an apartment building in the 13600 block of Vanowen Street about 11:15 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Wendi Massa.
Arens was visiting the apartment of his ex-wife and her husband, William Eugene Patterson, 33, when “a heated argument occurred concerning parental responsibilities,” Massa said. That led to a fight in the kitchen, police said.
