NATION : First Lady Free of Double Vision
WASHINGTON — First Lady Barbara Bush, who suffers from a thyroid ailment, is no longer troubled by double vision, thanks to a newly prescribed drug, her spokeswoman said today.
Anna Perez, the First Lady’s press secretary, said that some of the eye problem, including irritation and double vision, had cleared up since Mrs. Bush began a daily treatment of prednisone, an anti-inflammatory drug.
The First Lady also has been troubled with watery and bloodshot eyes and she returned to Washington Aug. 22 from the family vacation home in Kennebunkport, Me., for a checkup.
