Davis May Be Interested in Cineplex: Sources said Davis Cos., a family partnership led by former 20th Century Fox Film Corp. owner Marvin Davis, sent representatives to Toronto last week to look over Cineplex Odeon Corp., the large movie-theater concern now up for auction by its two largest shareholders. The Davis group made an unsuccessful offer last year for MGM/UA and is currently pursuing a bid for UAL Corp. Cineplex has said it expects bids by mid-month.
