IN THE GROOVE
Among the “more” on Barbra Streisand’s soon-to-be-released “A Collection: Greatest Hits and More” album will be a printed ecology-oriented message from Los Angeles-based Earth Communications Office. The environmental message begins with the ominous statement that “we only have 10 years to save our planet,” and urges record buyers to “pressure political leaders,” “love and respect all life” and “turn off lights,” among other suggestions. The organization says that the same message will appear on the album covers of other artists in the future. Streisand’s album, due to be released in late October, contains 10 of her hits plus two new songs.
