San Diego Sports et Cetera : Aztec Split End Raye Injures His Foot; Status Uncertain
San Diego State split end Jimmy Raye sprained his right foot in practice Wednesday, and his status for Saturday night’s football game against Cal State Fullerton at San Diego Jack Murphy is uncertain, a school spokesman said Thursday.
Raye’s foot has been placed in a cast, and he will be examined further today. If he is unable to play, he will be replaced in the starting lineup by senior Robert Claiborne. Raye, despite the injury, will continue to hold on placements.
Raye, a 5-foot-8, 160-pound junior, is second on the team with 11 catches for 162 yards.
