Brush fires swept through Santee and Jamul on Monday, burning a combined 45 acres, fire officials said.
The Santee fire was reported at 3:37 p.m. and burned 20 acres of Rattle Snake Mountain, near California 67 and Prospect Avenue, a Santee Fire Department spokesman said.
No injuries were reported and a few small sheds were destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In Jamul, a fire reported at 3:30 p.m. burned 25 acres off California 94 near Melody Road, a California Department of Forestry spokesman said. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
