A 67-year-old woman nicknamed “Granny Crank” last year for selling methamphetamines was arrested by narcotics officers who found more of the drug in her home. Edith Davis was due to begin serving a one-year term in the Sutter County Jail for selling methamphetamine--known as crank--last January. She pleaded guilty and agreed to do public service announcements on television urging people to stay away from drugs, and submit to searches any time. In exchange, she was sentenced to the jail term and five years’ probation--as long as she behaved herself.
