2 Slain, Possibly by Their Own Victim
Authorities said two young men, one found dead and another fatally wounded in Pomona, may have been killed Tuesday by a person they intended to rob.
Officers investigating a report of shots fired found the men--whose identities had not been determined, but appeared to be between 18 and 20 years old--on a railroad bridge in the 100 block of East Commercial Street, Pomona Police Sgt. Louie Hernandez said. The wounded man died shortly after arrival at hospital, Hernandez said.
The sergeant said several accounts of two men committing “strong-arm” robberies in the area had been reported, including two incidents that occurred on the bridge where police found the two men who were shot Tuesday.
“Possibly a victim or victims turned the tables on them (the dead men),” Hernandez said.
