A Soup Kitchen for the Homeless
Amid all the “bad news” stories, I would like to share some “good news.” The members of Placentia Presbyterian Church have started a soup kitchen out of concern for the homeless. The first week in September, when it was started, 23 homeless people attended. Now there are more than 100 who come each Thursday evening for a hot meal. There is also free clothing available.
The same program is done each Friday evening at St. Andrew Episcopal Church of Fullerton. The hope is that other churches in this part of north Orange County will provide this service on the other evenings each week so that hot dinners would be available every evening.
