Jeff Adkins, formerly a Maryland assistant basketball coach, admitted he violated National Collegiate Athletic Assn. rules by arranging to sell Atlantic Coast Conference tournament tickets for five Terrapin players.
Adkins told a Richmond, Va., newspaper he was not involved in giving payments to former player Rudy Archer and that he did not lie to NCAA investigators. But he said he sold 20 tickets to people not associated with the school.
The NCAA has accused Maryland of at least 19 violations, 10 of which were linked directly to Coach Bob Wade, who resigned last spring.
