Baldwin Park’s Mayor Resigns, Citing Stress
Citing stress and family health problems during an emotional and teary announcement, Baldwin Park Mayor Leo W. King resigned at a City Council meeting this week.
King, 61, who had served on the council for 17 years, including two stints as mayor, said he and his wife, Mary Ann, planned to move to Oklahoma to be closer to their children. He is the eastern San Gabriel Valley’s representative for the South Coast Air Quality Management District and a former vice chairman of the California Coastal Commission.
