SAN CLEMENTE : Man Wanted on Sex, Drug Charges Jailed
A man wanted in two states by federal authorities has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen car and stolen property, police said Thursday.
Michael Fisher, 31, who was arrested Wednesday afternoon in San Clemente, is wanted in Maui, Hawaii, on a charge of sexual abuse that carries $50,000 bail, according to a warrant issued by a U.S. magistrate.
He is also named on a federal warrant with no bail in an Arlington, Va., case alleging conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine, police said.
Police arrested Fisher behind homes in the 2700 block of Calle Del Comercio after receiving a tip that he would be picking up a 1962 Cadillac. Police said Fisher told them the car had been stolen in Laguna Niguel.
Fisher also possessed belongings that had been reported stolen in a recent rash of local burglaries, police said.
He was scheduled for arraignment Friday in Municipal Court in Laguna Niguel and will be turned over to federal officers.
