Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Spain and West Germany will be the seeded teams for the 1990 World Cup, FIFA President Joao Havelange said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, a Rome sports daily.
The seedings will be announced formally on Dec. 7, two days before the draw. Each seeded team will be placed in one of the six groups whose initial games are scheduled in 12 Italian cities. The World Cup finals begin at Milan on June 8, with the final in Rome’s Olympic Stadium on July 8.
