California IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : Wife of Pinochet’s Son Alleges Abuse

The daughter-in-law of Chilean strongman Augusto Pinochet is seeking a court order to protect her from his son, her estranged husband. In a sworn Sacramento Superior Court declaration, Maria Veronica Molina de Pinochet said her husband, Augusto Pinochet, has threatened her life, assaulted her and taken their five children to Chile. Molina’s Sacramento lawyer, Rodrigo Mayorga, said Molina wants to get her children back but she “doesn’t want to go back to Chile. She’s afraid.”
