Arctic temperatures forced the cancellation of thoroughbred racing cards from New England to New Orleans Friday.
Aqueduct in New York got out of the gate first by canceling Friday’s card on Thursday. Canceling on Friday were the Meadowlands in New Jersey, Rockingham Park in New Hampshire, Suffolk Downs in Boston, Laurel in Maryland, Hawthorne Park in Ilinois, Moutaineer Park in West Virginia and the Fair Grounds at New Orleans.
