6 in Movie Audience Complain of Illness
Six people complained of lightheadedness, nausea and other symptoms in a Century City theater Wednesday night after viewing a graphic scene in the movie “Born on the Fourth of July,” officials said.
According to Los Angeles County Health Department spokeswoman Sharon Wanglin, four Los Angeles City Fire Department rescue units were called to the Century Plaza Cinemas at the ABC Entertainment Center about 7:30 p.m. Only one person was taken to a hospital, she said.
Wanglin said the health department will investigate the incident. She said department inspectors at the scene determined that the sickness was not caused by food.
