Loyola Women, Coming Off 2-Game Win Streak, to Play a Pair in Idaho
The Loyola Marymount women’s basketball team, looking to finish 1989 with a winning record, opens a two-game road trip in Idaho tonight with a 7:30 game at Boise State.
The Lions, who play at Idaho State at 1 p.m. Saturday, are 4-5 and have won two games in a row after struggling through a five-game losing streak.
Guards Kristen Bruich and Lynn Flanagan have been the leaders in Loyola’s surge. Bruich leads the team with a 16.6-point average, is also supplying 4.6 assists and four steals per game and has all 10 of the team’s three-pointers. Flanagan is scoring 14.9 points per game and shooting 49%.
Center Tricia Gibson chips in 10.7 points per game and a team-high 8.2 rebounds. The Lions have also been improved thanks to the return of forward Michelle Bettencourt, who had been injured.
