PACIFICA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT : Schulze Leads Pacifica to Victory Over Magnolia
Randy Schulze scored 21 points and had 17 rebounds to lead Pacifica High School to a 74-58 victory over Magnolia Wednesday in the first round of the Pacifica basketball tournament.
Mike Haher added 15 points and 14 rebounds for Pacifica, which plays Santa Margarita at 7:30 tonight in a semifinal-round game.
In other first-round games:
Santa Margarita 60, Troy 55--Dan Batheyu scored 21 points, Jeff Layne 17 and Chris Hacker 16 for Santa Margarita.
Loara 105, Pius X 62--Tes Whitlock scored 33 points and had 10 assists to lead Loara (9-0). Mike Acosta had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Charles Gipson had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Dan Wassink had 10 points. Pius X (0-5) was led by Rod Titus, who had 12 points. Loara plays Dos Pueblos at 4:30 p.m. in a semifinal-round game. Dos Pueblos defeated Westminster, 57-34, in the first round.
