CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : KING CITY : Police Seek Foreman in 3 Family Killings

Authorities in the Monterey County community of King City fear that a ranch foreman has fled to Mexico or Southern California in a stolen truck after the shooting deaths of three members of his family. Ramon Esparza Rios, 39, is suspected of shooting his wife, Concepcion, and her cousin, Jose Luis Parra Hernandez, 23, in the Esparzas’ mobile home on Silva Ranch, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department said. A bullet went through a bedroom wall, striking the Esparzas’ 12-year-old son, Luis, who died later, deputies said.
