Mater Dei Keeps Its No. 1 Position in Basketball Poll
Mater Dei High School, coming off a 64-47 victory over Capistrano Valley, remains the top-ranked boys’ basketball team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep poll for the fourth consecutive week.
El Toro, which has won 13 of its last 14 games, moved from third to second. Edison slipped to third after a 35-34 loss to Long Beach Wilson.
In the featured game of the week, fourth-ranked Capistrano Valley will play host to ninth-ranked Mission Viejo at 7:30 tonight at Saddleback College.
