HOT PROPERTY: A $400-million development near downtown Santa Ana (D1), one of the largest funded by Japanese money in Orange County, is only the latest in a wave of Japanese investment in local real estate. . . . The binge started in 1985, and in 1988 alone totaled $506 million, and analysts expect the 1989 total to be about the same. . . . “Orange County will continue through the ‘90s to be a preferred investment location” for Pacific Rim investors, said one consultant.
