Bennett who toured the county Tuesday (B5), got a briefing in Sheriff Brad Gates’ “War Room” at the jail’s new Intake and Release Center. . . . Gates uses the facility as an initiation for business leaders interested in joining the county’s Drug Use Is Life Abuse program. . . . “I was very much impressed with the charts and the map showing the 500 drug-related deaths in Orange County,” Walton said. “The little crosses were in all types of neighborhoods.”
