Walker Places Third in Skating

Tisha Walker of the Conejo Valley Figure Skating Club finished third Saturday in the senior women’s competition in the Pacific Coast championships at the San Diego Ice Arena.

With the third-place finish, Walker qualified for the U. S. nationals in Salt Lake City, which will be held Feb. 4-11.

She had moved up from eighth after the compulsories Thursday to fourth after Friday’s short program before advancing one more place with her performance in Saturday’s long program, worth 50% of the final score.

The competition was won by Holly Cook of the Utah Figure Skating Club. Jeri Campbell of the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club was second.
