babysomething: Mel Harris, who plays Hope on ABC’s “thirtysomething,” is pregnant both on and off the screen. Harris and her actor-husband Cotter Smith are expecting their first child in May. Hope and Michael Steadman on “thirtysomething” are also awaiting a new baby. Harris’ publicist said the pregnancies had nothing to do with each other. Harris, 33, has a 5-year-old son from her previous marriage to David Hume Kennerly, President Ford’s White House photographer.
