Capistrano Valley Upsets No. 2 El Toro
MISSION VIEJO — Capistrano Valley High School upset El Toro, the county’s second-ranked team, 59-56, in a South Coast League girls’ basketball game Thursday at Capistrano Valley.
Guard Alisa Farr scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Capistrano Valley (13-7 overall and 4-1 in league). Peggy Rivas scored 12 points and Bridget Baker added 11 points and 13 rebounds. Karie Yoshioka had 20 points for El Toro (15-5, 4-1).
The score was tied, 36-36, after three quarters, but Capistrano Valley scored first and never trailed in the fourth quarter.
