Tenneco Gas Becomes Partner in Pipeline: Tenneco Gas has become a 50% partner and operator of the proposed $580-million Altamont natural gas pipeline, which is intended to bring gas from the Canadian border to southwestern Wyoming. The other Altamont partners are Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd., Petro-Canada and Shell Canada Ltd. The proposed 620-mile pipeline will connect with the proposed Kern River pipeline, which will bring gas into California for use in enhanced oil recovery operations in Kern County.
