THE SIDELINES : UCLA Shuts Out Hawaii 7-0

HONOLULU — John Sutherland, Scott Schanz and Dave Zancanaro combined to pitch a seven-hitter as UCLA blanked Hawaii 7-0 in the finale of a three-game, non-conference baseball series Sunday night.
Mannie Adams had three of the Bruins’ 13 hits, scored three runs and hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give UCLA a 2-0 lead.
David Tokhelm and David Ravitz each cracked two doubles as the Bruins pounded out seven extra base hits.
The Bruins also turned three double plays to blunt any Hawaii rallies.
