* METRO RAIL: Property owners who oppose the Southern California Rapid Transit District’s plan to tax properties along Metro Rail’s Phase II route will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sheraton Town-House. Members of the Committee Opposed to Metro Rail Taxation (COMET) will also gather signatures of affected property owners during the meeting.
* HILLSIDE CONTROLS: The Sierra Madre City Council, which last month passed the strictest hillside development controls in the San Gabriel Valley, will take another look at the measure Tuesday night after a consultant reports on its legality.
* AID FOR THE HUNGRY: 200 members of the Los Angeles County Chiropractic Society will treat patients for free on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14, in exchange for a donation of non-perishable food. The food collections will be donated to the group “Love Is Feeding Everyone.”
