Pepto Party
It’ll be “breakfast with the Bundys” on March 12, when Columbia Pictures TV feeds a few thousand “Married With Children” fans to promote an upcoming “Married With Children” comic book and cookbook.
As anyone who watches the Fox Broadcasting Network sitcom is aware, Peg--the show’s housework-hating homemaker (actress Katey Sagal)--isn’t exactly a palette-pleaser. The cookbook, “Pig Out With Peg--Secrets From the Bundy Kitchen,” will offer such fare as Chernobyl Chicken Meltdown Sandwich, Smoke Alarm Steak (you cook it until the smoke alarm sounds) and a cheese sandwich you grill with a steam iron.
“These are real recipes you can make yourself,” a Columbia Publishing spokeswoman assures us. “They’ve all been tested.”
The day will start from 6-10 a.m., with KIIS-FM deejay Rick Dees broadcasting his morning show from the set of the Bundy kitchen at the Sunset-Gower Studios. The entire cast will be present. The first 4,000 fans to arrive will be fed breakfast--and given autographed gifts--in four hourly shifts.
Then, at noon, the cast will be at the A to Z Store at the Westside Pavilion, where autographed copies of the comic book and cookbook will be given to the first 5,000 fans. A Peg and Al look-alike contest is also planned; contestants should sign up at 11 a.m.
