PBS Sues Hughes: The Public Broadcasting Service filed suit in Superior Court on Thursday against Hughes Aircraft Co. alleging that the company was negligent when it miscalculated the fuel needed to keep its Westar IV satellite in operation until April, 1992. Because of the satellite’s expected failure, the suit said, PBS was forced to buy additional satellite service and wants compensation and damages. (Filed Feb. 15, 1990. Case No. C752451)
