SHORT TAKES : Reba McEntire Gives Birth
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music singer Reba McEntire has given birth to her first child, a son, at Nashville hospital, a spokesman said today.
McEntire, 34, is a four-time winner of the “Female Vocalist of the Year” honors voted by the Country Music Assn. and is best known for her hits “Whoever’s in New England” and “Somebody Should Leave.”
An Oklahoma native, McEntire last June married her manager, Narvel Blackstock, 33, about three years after divorcing her first husband, Charlie Battles.
A spokesman said the child, born over the weekend, was named Shelby Blackstock.
