A janitor at the Turkish Embassy in Lebanon, kidnaped from his home in Muslim West Beirut on Wednesday, has been released, security officials said Sunday.

They said Mehmet Sahin was freed Saturday by his unidentified captors, who interrogated him and kept him blindfolded most of the time. The sources said Sahin, a Turkish national, had no idea why he was abducted.

Turkey has three diplomats at its Beirut embassy.
